A bit about me
Not much of a writer, according to my mom.*

The standard dictionary definition of a writer is: "a person who writes books, stories, or articles as a job or occupation". There's no mention in that spare description of the why of writing, which seems an important omission...or at least a telling one. I guess I can claim to be a writer by virtue of having written a book, some research articles, even a Tweet or two. But what I'd rather claim is to be a reader—a reader of books and articles and such, both good and bad. I'm a writer only because I was a reader first. And it was only because I read so many stories that I recognized that there were more stories to tell, stories that were being neglected or misplaced or lost or just plain unwritten.

Regardless of what I'd like to claim, however, a writer I am. I live in Switzerland with my family and our fluffy dog and I hope to write a few more books before the keyboard breaks. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy 31 Days in April.
Thanks for stopping by.

* My mother never said this. She is and ever was my biggest fan and most ardent supporter. Thanks Mom!
